Far and away the longest lasting and most successful of the all progressive rock groups, Yes has proven to be one of the most pervading success stories from the musical genre. The band, founded in 1968 by Chris Squire, (still voted as the world's premiere rock bass player), and the distinctive lead vocalist Jon Anderson, has overcome a generational shift in it's audience, while maintaining a vast and loyal fan base from the early days. Over the years Yes has seen the departure of its most visible members at key points in its history, however succeeded in reaching the end of the century as the definitive progressive rock band.
