Members of the Moody Blues, classic rock legends and others tell the remarkable story of the band from the swinging sixties to the present day...

The story of the Moody Blues is the story of magic and musical mastery that changed the face of rock music forever. Beginning as an early 60's Birmingham R&B group, The Moody Blues have evolved over the decades in both personnel and musical style to become one of the worlds most successful and longest running bands.

The sixties saw the explosion of 'The Brit Invasion', and from the club scene of Birmingham a legendary band were born, bringing with them the new 'Brum Beat' sound.

Heavily influenced by the heady scene of Blues and R&B, The Moody Blues broke into a new music scene during a brand new age, pioneering the way for British bands crossing over into the American market.

The legendary band are attributed as being one of the top Rock/Psychedelic acts of their era, and have now achieved 18 Platinum Records, album sales of 55 million worldwide, scored a number of Music Awards and are one of the only bands from the 60's who still command audiences on the international stages of world.

In the first six months of the bands existence in May 1964, they were signed to Decca Records and hit the number one spot with 'Go Now'. But what followed was a hard climb to form the bands identity amidst a stream of emerging rock acts as the swinging sixties hit the ground running at full speed.

A major line up change saw Justin Hayward and John Lodge joining the band to replace Denny Laine and Clint Warwick who had left. This change was accompanied by a new style of music and together with founder members Mike Pinder and Ray Thomas, and drummer Graeme Edge, The Moody Blues entered a new era.

Their next break came in 1967 with the bizarre collaboration of fusing classical music with rock to promote the new 'stereo sound'. The album was called 'Days of Future Passed' and became a milestone in rock recording as one of the very first concept albums, featuring the all time classic track 'Nights in White Satin'.

The success continued over the years, bringing with it changes in line up and an evolutionary musical style. As they enter their fifth decade, The Moody Blues continue to play sell out world wide tours, bringing their music legacy to a legion of fans compromised of their original listeners' 'children's children's children'.

Their classic albums including 'Days of Future Passed' and timeless hits such as 'Nights in White Satin' and 'Go Now' are featured in this fascinating and fully authorised documentary. Through exclusive interviews from current band members Justin Hayward, John Lodge and Graeme Edge, and new extremely rare interviews with former members Mike Pinder, Denny Laine and their contemporaries, we trace the rich and colourful story of the music of The Moody Blues, something never before told so thoroughly or with such insight.
