Director' Word

I met John Lodge many many years ago and I remember going to his house just outside London.

But for this film, we visited him in his second home in Barbados. Seeing John in Barbados, I noticed how laid back, well tanned and incredibly relaxed he was looking. His home looked out over a beautiful golf course and that’s where he sat down to recount the long journey of the Moody Blues of which he had been the longest surviving member with Graeme Edge.

We filmed john in various locations in Barbados and talked about artists and musicians he had worked with over the decades including the members of Cream and the tours that he’d experienced with the Moody Blues taking him all over the world.  John was the perfect host and very kindly showed me and the Classic Artists team around the most exotic spots in Barbados. After departing from the Island a week later, I realized that John had worked out the perfect life- spending the winter months in Barbados, the summer months in the UK and the rest of the time touring the world with the Moody Blues.
