Director's Word

It was early on a Monday morning that we departed to Wiltshire to see the wild man of rock- otherwise known as Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull.  The crew and I arrived at his stately manor where he sat with a mug of tea in the middle of his lavender garden in order to commence the definitive biography of Jethro Tull who is celebrating their 40th anniversary year of the band.  The interview was scheduled for approximately 1 hour and a half and five and a half hours later, we emerged exhausted. My assistant at the time, Andrew Wilson, hadn’t sat down for the whole 5 and half hours which was extremely worrying- especially as I thought he was about to collapse.  He congratulated Ian on his interviews and his comments were, “although it was long, we had to get it precisely right, perfection to the end”.
